Readypower Rail Services is looking for a Head of Training. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, based from our Nottingham Depot.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced compliance leader with strong rail knowledge and a proven record of driving safety, quality, and team performance.
The role:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Compliance department, ensuring all activities are fully aligned with RTAS Rules, Sentinel Scheme Rules and NSAR requirements
- Oversee departmental performance and budget, ensuring effective cost control, accountability, and compliance with all funding and grant claim processes
- Manage the Authority to Work system, ensuring alignment with operational and safety requirements
- Champion a proactive health, safety, and compliance culture across all departmental activities
- Implement and oversee a structured audit and assurance programme, analysing findings to drive continuous improvement and regulatory compliance
- Foster a professional and inclusive learning environment, supporting the delivery of high-quality training and professional development for learners and staff
- Act as the principal liaison for NSAR, RISQS, and other regulatory or accreditation bodies, ensuring the organisation maintains an excellent standing in all audits
- Drive the development of the department into a fully accredited Compliance and Training Academy, positioning it as a centre of excellence within the business and industry
Requirements:
Essential
- A strong background in railway operations or a similar technical field
- Experience managing funding, grant claims, or training compliance processes
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience representing an organisation during external audits (NSAR, RISQS, etc.)
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and change management initiatives within a regulated environment
Desirable
- Strong understanding of RTAS Rules, Sentinel Scheme Rules, and NSAR accreditation requirements
- Accredited assessor qualification
- Accredited Level 4 trainer qualification
- Internal Auditor qualified
