As part of the Southend Regeneration Readypower was awarded a subcontract to install piled foundations for a new jetty, including:

• Breakout existing sea defence
• Install 457mm diameter and 610mm diameter CHS piles to 12 metre depth
• Install primary steel

Construction Phase

Readypower was selected to install the piles as due to the innovative method of install, it negated the need for a piling platform on a public beach. This was an environmental plus and also reduced enabling works. The flexibility of the piling system was key to achieving the 14 day programme. Being able to de-rig very quickly and move from incoming tidal water avoided large breaks in pile driving.
