Season’s Greetings 2021

A message from our CEO, Russell Jack.

It has been another tough year battling with the effects of the pandemic which will enter its second year in March 2022. The effects have been catastrophic on many people in so many ways from bereavement, loss of jobs and tough economic circumstances as well as mental health.

I think it is now more important than ever, to recognise and support critical charities who have had their ability to raise cash severely impacted by the pandemic. COVID aside, there are many people round the UK still battling with other hardships and these charities provide a vital lifeline to those people.

I am therefore writing to all our customers and suppliers to let you know that we will again be making donations to our chosen charities this year instead of sending out gifts. I trust you understand and support this decision.

We support two charities at Readypower: a children’s charity, Sebastian’s Action Trust; and a homeless one, The London and Slough Run.

The Sebastian’s Action Trust gives support and respite to families with children suffering from life limiting or life-threatening conditions and provide breaks at their purpose-built facilities in the South. We have supported the build of a second facility in Berkshire through 2019 & 2020 with the free use of our construction machines and staff. Our donation this Christmas will also help fund this going forward.

If you would like to find out more, please take a few minutes to log onto their website at www.sebastiansactiontrust.org and read about the charity. I know you will all be moved by some of the heart-breaking stories of the families that they help. As a parent, I certainly was. Any donations I know are gratefully received.

Over the last few years, we have also supported the Slough Winter Night Shelter for the homeless with a sleepout in Slough. Staff from the Readypower team braved wintery nights, out in the open sleeping in cardboard boxes to help raise awareness and support for those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Unfortunately, due to COVID we will not be doing the sleepout this year however we will still be donating to this excellent charity.

Please do have a look at their website  https://thelondonandsloughrun.com/ and see the wonderful work these volunteers do.

On behalf of everyone at the Readypower Group I would like to wish all our valued customers and supply chain a very merry Christmas and a prosperous and peaceful New Year.
